This week the family of “I Bambini di Selvino” lost one of ours: Yael Golan-Shwartzblat Zal died in Australia.

The Selvino Children’s Association planted a tree in memory of Yael Golan in the Jerusalem forest.

YAEL GOLAN

We “met” her and her daughter Michal in a remote online meeting about a year ago.

Daughter Michal gave her mother a moving praise and shared her words with us and found a warm, supportive and strengthening place in the Weisbach family. They are thoughts and feelings so intense that it’s just hard not to shed a tear.

Here are the words of Michal, Yael’s daughter.
“My mom had an inner strength that not many people in the world possessed. She always gave and helped everyone even when she didn’t have for herself and always wished everyone the best and never cared what other people have. She is was the strongest woman we have ever known, went through WWII and suffered many serious health problems, had a car accident at the age of 18 which left her paraplegic but nothing allowed to stop her, traveled across continents to Australia, raised a son and daughter, raised her five grandchildren, drove, cooked, believed all your dreams could come true.
Nothing has changed her beautiful and incredible personality. She loved unreservedly and had unconditional loyalty. It’s unimaginable to think of a world where she doesn’t exist since she was a beacon of light. She was the best mother in the world and the best grandmother in the universe. I thank G-D for choosing her to be a mother, she was my best friend, she was my world and she will be with me in everything I do.”
