Among the speakers at the conference are Orit Even-Shoshan Reshef, who will speak about the lost identities of the Selvino children.
The following is an abstract of Orit’s lecture:
In this lecture I will present the Selvino Children’s Association. The organization’s vision is to preserve the memory of Beit Sciesopoli, and the children who were rehabilitated in it.
The memory of Beit Sciesopoli is yet another step in preservation of the identities of the Selvino children.
The Selvino Children’s Association is shared by the children of Selvino, the Second Generation and Italian citizens that this subject is close to their hearts.
The connection with the Italians serves as a purpose of creating a living identity for those identities lost in the war.
In addition, I will discuss the meaning of creating identity when facts of life are missing.
The use of memories of the place and memories of other children, can create an identity and the details of missing life – an historical psychological process.
