We were lucky enough to know him, to be his guests and to listen to his memories and words during the twinning between Selvino and Zeelim on April 1, 2016.
Also thanks to her help and commitment was born the Amutta of the “Children of Selvino” in summer 2016.
His life has gone through the tragedy of the twentieth century, Europe, racism and war, and the fate of persecuted Jews until the birth of the State of Israel. Survived at Birkenau with the help of a capo, Haim (Chaim) Raphael, who had paid to save him from the gas chamber. Survived at the “Death March” to find his dying father at Mauthausen. Finally he was liberated by the Americans on May 5, 1945 and was able to reach Selvino in the autumn of 1945.
In Selvino he meets a friend of Lager and many other guys like him. Selvino becomes his home with friends, hope in the future, and a new life in Israel, to return to love and be loved.

A short movie shot and mounted by Enrico Grisanti, thank you for this tribute, shows us Yitzhak Livnat to Zeelim in 2016.

So we want to remember it, as a special person who has loved Italy and Selvino very much like his family.

Yitzhak still remembered the popular Italian and Neapolitan songs that sang in a great Italian with very vigor and well-tuned.
In the interview ends saying “I am clear” and finally declare in dialect the name of Selvino with the typical “they” aspired, in gratitude to the country that was for a short time his country, the country where it was built , With the help of educators and, above all, with the paternal and severe guidance of Moshe Zeiri, the Children’s Republic of Selvino, where sharing, studying, work, chants, dances and sports meddled the wounds of war And deportation and prepared to realize the dream of a new horizon and a new land for those who had lost everything.
